Efate - Island Impact

Zwei Tage vor Silvester sind wir nach Efate geflogen. Dort haben wir hauptsächlich die Kollegen von Love Vanuatu unterstützt beim Jugendlager mit anschließendem outreach, genannt Island Impact. Dort haben wir auch ein YWAM-Team aus Sydney getroffen.
Bei Island Impact habe ich im Medienteam fotografiert sowie die Rundbriefe gestaltet und veröffentlicht. Wer will, darf sich gerne die PDFs auf den Island-Impact-Seiten von Love Vanuatu anschauen. Noch vor dem offiziellen Ende von Island Impact ist unser Team schon am 20. Januar wieder nach NZ zurückgeflogen, da unser eigener outreach ans Ende gelangt war.
Two days to New Year's Eve we went back to Efate. Mainly we supported here the colleagues of Love Vanuatu with a youth camp (and outreach afterwards) called Island Impact. And, we even meet there another YWAM team from Sydney.
During Island Impact, I had some little jobs in the media team, taking pictures and edit and publish the newsletters. If you like, have a look to the PDFs on Love Vanuatu pages about Island Impact. Since our own outreach finished with Jan 20, we returned to NZ during the last week of Island Impact outreach.

Esperitu Santo

Hier ein kleiner Überblick zu Vanuatu. Die ersten vier Wochen waren wir die meiste Zeit auf Santo direkt in Luganville in der dortigen AoG-Kirche untergebracht, das selbe Gebäude beherbergt auch die Santo Christian School.
Ein Höhepunkt war der Besuch von Malo Island, auf der Karte direkt unterhalb des Wortes "Luganville" zu erkennen, von Samstag bis Donnerstag vor Weihnachten. Dort haben wir den Sonntags-Gottesdienst gestaltet, und danach je am Morgen und am Abend ein teaching gehalten, also eine Art Lehrvortrag für die Gemeinde.
Find here an overview map of Vanuatu. The first four weeks we stayed most of the time on Santo, in Luganville city directly (at the local AoG church). The same building also hosts the Santo Christian School.
A highligth was a visit on Malo Island. You can find it as little spot under the "Luganville" term. We stayed on Malo from Saturday to Thursday the week before Christmas. We lead the sunday service, and then we did twice a teaching daily, in the mornings and in the evenings.

Hello New Zealand...

So, nach acht Wochen Vanuatu mal wieder ein neues Lebenszeichen von mir. Seit Sonntag mittag bin ich wieder in Neuseeland und wieder in Oak Ridge, heile und in einem Stück.
Freilich gibt es VIEL zu erzählen und eine Menge neue Fotos.

Vanuatu war gut, teilweise aber auch ziemlich anstrengend.

Die ersten vier Wochen waren wir mit dem Outreach-Team auf Esperitu Santo Island in Luganville, die zweiten vier Wochen auf der Insel Efate in Pango Village, nahe der Hauptstadt Port Vila.

Das andere Outreach-Team ist gestern ebenfalls heile und vollzählig wieder in Oak Ridge angekommen.


Well, after eigth weeks of Vanuatu some news from me. Since Sunday afternoon I'm back in New Zealand and in Oak Ridge. Of course, there is a LOT to tell you and I have heaps of new photos.

Vanuatu was good, but also sometimes was very exhausting.

The first four weeks we (that's me and the outreach team) spent in Esperitu Santo island in Luganville. The other four weeks we stayed on Efate island in Pango village which is close to Vanuatu's capital Port Vila.

And, also the other outreach team came back to Oak Ridge from India in good order.
